One of the biggest parts of a perfect wedding day is finding the perfect venue, and the perfect venue exists at 38 St. James Avenue, Boston, Massachusetts: The Fairmont Copley Plaza. This stunning venue is located in the heart of Back Bay and has captured the hearts of countless couples since 1913.

This grand hotel is straight out of a movie, with breathtaking ballrooms, beautiful architecture, immaculate gardens, ballrooms, and more. Here’s everything you need to know about planning a Fairmont Copley Plaza Wedding.

A Step-by-Step Guide to Planning a Fairmont Copley Plaza Wedding In Boston

Here’s what you’ll need to do when planning a Fairmont Copley Plaza wedding.

Step 1: Choosing the Fairmont Copley Plaza Wedding Venue for Your Wedding

The first step is picking this spectacular venue for your wedding. Having a wedding at Fairmont Copley Plaza is going to be an unforgettable experience. For starters, there are five options when it comes to where in the Fairmont Copley Plaza you’re going to have your wedding. We’ll dive into that in a moment.

Weddings start at $3,000, and meals are $200 per person but can go higher than that. Please note that there is a gratuity charge of 17%. In addition, capacity ranges from 20 (minimum) to 500 people (maximum seating).

Here are some of the features available at Fairmont Copley Plaza:

  • Accommodation
  • Wheelchair access
  • Set up and clean up
  • In-house catering (take a look at their menu)
  • In-house alcohol service
  • Lighting and sound
  • Amplified music indoors
  • Year-round availability
  • Dressing room
  • Wireless internet

Step 2: Choosing an Event Room at Fairmont Copley

There’s more to choosing to plan a Fairmont Copley Plaza wedding than just picking the Fairmont Copley Plaza.

You’ve got to choose one of their numerous rooms to be the place where you’re going to spend your big day. Here are the five options available for your wedding.

#1 – Grand Ballroom

The Grand Ballroom is usually used for conferences. However, this stunning room is versatile and can be made into a great space for your wedding. There’s a state-of-the-art audio-visual system, stunning design and gold accents, and ample space to dance the night away as newlyweds. Of course, there’s no shortage of space as the grand ballroom is 6,090 square feet.

#2 – Ballroom Foyer

The Ballroom foyer is another area where large gatherings can take place in the 2,295 square feet of space provided. The room is stunning, with a heavy focus on white chandeliers, wide-open floor space, and hints of greens and gold painted on the finishings.

#3 – Oval Room

The Oval Room looks like a room straight out of the history books dating back to the grandeur of America’s founding. This room is draped in golden curtains, sophisticated yellow paint, gorgeous chandeliers, and an impressive 3,829 square feet of space.

#4 – Venetian Room

Another room with a heavy focus on gold, the Venetian Room, is elegant and timeless. Mirrors are plastered all around the room, with golden pillars and large doors showcasing the true mesmerizing aspects of this breathtaking space. The floor space is 2,068 square feet, so there’s still enough room for a large gathering to attend and enjoy the celebrations.

#5 – St. James Room

A more intimate room, the St. James Room is 1,375 square feet which is the smallest of all the rooms while still being fairly large. The room has a heavy focus on wood with red curtains, mirrors, and lots of natural light. It’s just another example of the elegance any Fairmont Copley Plaza wedding would have.

Step 3: Choose Your Vendors

Once you’ve got the venue, it’s time to make it your own. Plan a stunning wedding for the ages with some of Massachusetts’s finest and begin filling out the vendors and guest lists to get your wedding perfect.

You’ve got a lot of things to think about. I’ve got the perfect guide to getting married in Massachusetts. Here are some tips for a stress-free wedding day!

Why Plan a Fairmont Copley Plaza Wedding in Boston?

There are so many reasons to choose a Fairmont Copley Plaza Wedding. Here are some of my top reasons:

#1 – Iconic Venue

This is more than just another hotel in Boston. This essentially is Boston and its history in a building. The hand-carved moldings and leather ceilings harken back to the early years of Boston’s history.

Everything has a sense of regality and opulence to it without being tacky or pretentious. It’s the perfect blend of art, style, and substance.

#2 – Fantastic Food

Besides its iconic design, it’s also got some of the best food in the state. They’ve made hundreds of thousands of meals for guests and visitors for over a century. Delicious food, spectacular wine, and that famous Fairmont service mean your wedding is going to be amazing.

They source the bulk of their ingredients locally, including from the Copley Square Farmers Market and authentic honey from rooftop beehives. It’s authentically Boston in every sense of the word.

#3 – A Lot of Room To Play

You’ve got such a wide-open space to play with you to ensure your wedding looks precisely how you want it to look. You can really make the most of these spaces and build on the already stunning bones of your wedding venue.

To be honest, these rooms are so beautiful you might not want to even change a thing, but having the option is just as good.

#4 – Central Location

If you want to focus your reception at the Fairmont Copley Plaza, rest assured that there are many options nearby for vow exchanges.

Here are some of the churches in the area:

  • Trinity Church
  • Old South Church
  • Cathedral of Holy Cross

#5 – Great Accommodation

If you’ve got out-of-town guests or just want to avoid driving home, then the Fairmont Copley Plaza has options for you to stay the night. The ballrooms are excellent, but the accommodation doesn’t miss the mark either.

You’ve got the option between guest rooms, suites, and Fairmont Gold. With views of Boston and great space, you’ll never want to leave!

Conclusion

There you have it, a stunning Fairmont Copley Plaza wedding awaits. So, what are you waiting for?

I’ve spent some time at the Fairmont Copley Plaza, capturing stunning weddings and seeing the magic up close. If you’re looking for a photographer who knows how to capture the moment and knows the space they’re working in, look no further. Let’s get in touch and make sure to capture the heart, and soul of your Fairmont Copley Plaza wedding, so you never forget the magic of marrying the one you love most!
