Colette’s sister planned an absolutely amazing baby shower for Colette and her husband, Mike, at The Commons 1854. Guests were greeted by a beautiful, hand-lettered sign illustrated by the mama-to-be’s dear friend, Melsys. A graceful balloon arch accented by flowers, elegant floral garlands, and additional illustrations by Melsys completed the picturesque scene designed to welcome this lucky, well-loved little girl.

Colette’s mother, Nora, who owns the Lebanese cuisine restaurant Nora’s Kitchen, crafted delicate, delicious sweets in honor of her eagerly anticipated granddaughter. I am pretty grateful they were bite-sized—they were far too tempting to only sample one or two. Especially since Colette and Nora sent me home with a full plate of treats. Pink cocktails adorned by edible flowers and a cake with a perfect, miniature pram on top accompanied an artfully presented meal. 

Colette was radiant, and the outdoor garden at The Commons 1854 was the perfect place to capture her baby bump. The couple’s love for each other and anticipation of meeting their little one were clear. Colette wore a gorgeous mauve and fuchsia dress. Her mother’s dress was subtly similar in pattern, and they looked beautiful next to each other, waiting eagerly for the next generation of women in their family. 

The attention to detail, loveliness, and personal touches made this baby shower a stunning and yet cozy event. Warmth and love radiated from the guests for Colette, Mike, and their baby girl. Colette glowed—she looked just how pregnant women hope to look, expectant, tender, and excited to meet her little one. It was a delight to be able to capture this event and be a part of welcoming Colette and Mike’s baby girl. Congratulations you two! I so excited for both of you!
