Okay, guys, now this is my type of job. I get to drink delicious cappuccino’s and snack on sweet treats? Somebody pinch me.
Monday I headed into Twist Bakery & Cafe to shoot for their social media and website. You will definitely want to do yourself a favor and visit this place. I absolutely love working in cutesy restaurants and this one was definitely one of them. Kathryn has owned this shop for 5 years and was eager to tell me about her business. I really can’t get enough of women entrepreneurs who start their businesses in their kitchens, as she did. Most bakeries are now trying to incorporate gluten free, nut free, and peanut free in their menu but Kathryn has been doing this since the very beginning, so she has mastered it.
However, I was mostly impressed when I walked into the kitchen a saw a marinara being made from scratch, real ingredients being prepped for sweet treats, and a cook dancing in between egg flips. I love that Kathryn took her passion for changing her lifestyle, and what she put in her body, and is now making that accessible to everyone in the sweet town of Millis, MA.
Here are some shots of the chopped salad, which paired with the house made vinaigrette and garlic herb was delicious (I loved both so I used half and half on the salad).
I also came home with these sweet treats. Luckily my mom stayed with me this week so I could take care of her post-op, so she helped me devour these. Lemon squares are one of my favorites and they were amazing! I don’t even like chocolate but I couldn’t stop eating the chocolate marble bundt cake. Does this remind anyone else of “My Big Fat Greek Wedding”? Everything pictured here was gone in about 10 minutes… remember I am pregnant. I personally love jalapeño, so the jalapeño bacon & cheddar scone is something I’d like to eat every day.
I’m a firm believer in supporting small businesses whenever possible, I will definitely be heading back to Twist with my family.
